Welcome to LinguaKids!
French, Spanish & Chinese Classes for Kids
LinguaKids, a Connecticut based company, offers French, Spanish
and Chinese classes for children. We offer before and after school
enrichment programs in many elementary schools as well as small group classes in
Larchmont, NY.
LinguaKids uses a multi-sensory approach to teaching - simultaneously
using the senses as we teach. Songs with movement, toys and manipulatives, arts and crafts,
games, reading stories, conversations, and worksheets are all techniques that we
use to teach children basic
vocabulary words and phrases.
Most
importantly, the children hear the language from a
native speaker and repeat words and phrases as they should be spoken.
We have classes to fit everyone's schedule:
Les Enfants Musicaux / Los Niños
Musicales (ages 6 months and up) - A 45 minute
class for children who aren't quite ready to be on their own. They meet
new friends and explore a foreign language with the comfort of a parent or
caretaker. Each class is full of music, arts, stories, games and toys, all
designed to introduce basic vocabulary and to teach the children how to speak
with a flawless accent.
Explorers (ages 3-5) - A 2
hour class for the newly independent. These classes offer a nurturing
environment where children lean through songs, stories, games and play.
They are encouraged to speak and repeat and for the accent that children imitate
so well.
Voyagers (ages 5-7) - A 1
hour intellectual class for the often sports-packed schedules of today.
Expand their minds with fun songs, poems, crafts and games while building
vocabulary and understanding.
Adventurers
(ages 7+) - Our older kids thrive in these 1 hour classes where the
pace is faster. Learning is still fun with plenty of games. They
learn to converse with the instructor and each other too. And, as
readers, they are challenged on another level too - with worksheets and reading.
Research show that children who are exposed to a foreign language after the age
of 10 will most likely never speak it like a native. That’s why it is so
important for children to be exposed to another language
during their “critical period”..
