Innovative ways for teaching kids foreign languages (6 months and up)

Research show that children who are exposed to a foreign language after the age of 10 will most likely never speak it like a native. That’s why it is so important for children to be exposed to another language during their “critical period”. The potential benefits for kids of speaking more than one language  also improve comprehension skills in English, as  ''Children gain some abstract abilities,'' says Jean Berko Gleason, a psychology professor at Boston University.

LinguaKids, a Connecticut based company, offers French, Spanish and Chinese classes for children starting at the age of 6 months.  We offer before and after school enrichment programs in many elementary schools in CT and NY as well as small  classes in Larchmont, NY and Darien, CT.  Each session Linguakids enrolls over 500 children in our various programs.

Our goal is to teach a new language, a new culture and have fun at the same time!!! Through fun songs, games, art and craft, reading stories and much more your child will learn basic vocabulary and how to speak with a flawless accent. Your child will be completely immersed in the chosen language. LinguaKids teachers are friendly, energetic native speakers. We follow your child’s progress in French, Spanish and Chinese from first steps through all high school levels. We have been offering our unique and exclusive program to the children and parents of our community for the past years, regularly developing, improving and expanding our curriculum to benefit all of our clients.

Most importantly, the children hear the language from a native speaker and repeat words and phrases as they should be spoken. And children are more likely to be interested if the learning is fun.

We offer classes to fit everyone's schedule:

In our location in Larchmont, NY and Darien, CT

• a 45 min class for children who aren’t quite ready to be on their own 
  Les Enfants Musicaux / Los Niños Musicales (ages 6 months to 4 years old)
• a 2 hour class for the newly independent (Explorers ages 2 ½ old and up)
• a 1 hour intellectual class for the often sports-packed schedules of today  (Voyagers and Adventurers ages 4 years old and up)
• a 1 hour class for kids: 4 years old and up Arts and Crafts for our little Picassos (Only in Darien)

        


General information

 

We always try to make a class according to the children’s age and level.

We are supporting French, Spanish and upon request Chinese Italian and German.

All this with native speakers and a fun learning methodology using books and CDs. 
All  classes vary in size from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 12 kids in a school, and 3 to 8 kids in our Larchmont and Darien locations.
