Enrollment Policies and Procedures

Enrollment – Enrollment will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis.

Age Guidelines – The ages on the registration form are only a guideline.  If you have siblings that would like to take a class together, please call so that it can be arranged.

Waiting List – A waiting list will be maintained for each class.  If your first and/or second choice of class is not available, you will automatically be placed on a waiting list for that class.  If a spot becomes available, we will contact families in the order the enrollments were received.

Tuition – Registration will not be completed until payment has been received.  LinguaKids, LLC accepts checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  There will be a $25 fee charged for bounced checks.

Discounts (Valid in our Larchmont and Darien location) – A 15% discount will be given on the second and subsequent enrollments in the following two cases:

1)  enrollment of 2 or more siblings in the same session

2)  enrollment of one child for both the fall and winter sessions if paid in full by September

Refunds and Credits – If you notify LinguaKids in writing of a withdrawal before the first day of class, you will receive a full refund of tuition paid less a $25 processing fee.  If you notify LinguaKids in writing of a withdrawal after the first day of class but before the third class of the session, you will receive a full credit toward a future class.  Withdrawals after the third class are non-refundable.

Illness Policy – When your child has been ill, do not have him/her return to class until your child has been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication such as Tylenol, Motrin, etc.  If your child is placed on antibiotics, keep him/her home for 24-48 hours after starting the medication.  If your child has been vomiting or has had diarrhea, keep him/her at home for 24 hours after the last episode.  Remember that viruses are spread easily in the young population and we also want to keep our teachers healthy!

Separation – Children who have separation issues may want to delay enrollment until the following session.  Parents or caretakers are permitted but not encouraged to attend the first class of the session.  We ask that you not attend subsequent classes since having one parent or caretaker present tends to create a domino effect with the other children.

Switching Classes – If you are interested in switching classes, please call to check availability or put your name on our waiting list.  Every effort will be made to ensure that your child is in a class that fits your schedule.

Make-up Classes – If your child misses a class during the session, please call to schedule a make-up class.  Make-ups are encouraged!

Inclement Weather, Holidays and Class Cancellations – For Linguakids at your school, we follow your school system calendar. For our studio in Larchmont we follow the Mamaroneck district calendar. For our studio in Darien we follow the Darien Public school calendar. Please check the Internet to find out if the classes are cancelled for any reasons. In the event of questionable weather, you may check if classes are being held by calling LinguaKids at 914-525-0328. Please call after 7:30 am as a determination will not be made until that point.  Additional make-up classes will be added in the event LinguaKids cancels a class.
